Our Program's Success

Since it’s founding the Achievement Academy of Durham has:

  • Graduated 67 high risk students with their North Carolina High School Equivalency Diploma
  • Equipped all eligible graduates with financial aid for post-secondary education
  • Supported 8 students through the completion of their post-secondary education program

While other GED programs exist, none have the track record that we do. Before founding the Achievement Academy, Sandee Washington spent six years developing and honing a program to help students dramatically increase reading levels and develop the skills and self-discipline necessary to attain their North Carolina High School Equivalency Diploma. Perhaps more importantly, our students move on to community college and many gratuate with nationally recognized certifications in specific programs or two-year degrees.
